You're either building bone ... or losing it

Heyyyyy hi,

I recorded a video for you on bone health because this is one of those topics that becomes incredibly important as we move through our 40s and beyond, but most of us don’t think about it until someone hands us a bone density scan and suddenly we’re hindsight-interested in what our skeleton has been up to. 😂

Your bones are living tissue, constantly adapting to the signals you send them. The things you do now can influence the strength and resilience of the skeleton you’ll have years from now. And I know you want to be the coolest, strongest, sassiest, most mobile, hardest-to-kill 100-year old on the block.

Sooooo I made this video to break down (pun intended) what’s actually happening inside your bones and why strength training, nutrition, and lifestyle habits matter so much for long-term health.

Grab your coffee, give it a watch, and let me know what you think. Your future self (and your future hips) will thank you.

And if you want some drills to get started, I recorded this for you as well.

If this got you thinking, “Okay wait…what do I actually need to be doing for my health at this stage of life?” — that’s exactly the kind of thing we work on inside The Metabolic Edge.

Doors will open later this month so we can all start September together. If you’ve been thinking about joining us, hop on the waitlist and I’ll let you know when enrollment opens.

And if you’re looking for more personalized support, my 1:1 coaching may be a better fit. I work with women for all kinds of goals — fat loss, improving labs and metabolic health, building strength, navigating perimenopause, and women who have recently been diagnosed with osteopenia or osteoporosis and want a clear plan for what to do next. Everything is customized around your body, your goals, and the areas you actually want to improve. Fill out the application and I will be in touch shortly to discuss availability, timing, and next steps.

Stay wild + well,
Tara

Try this easy protein mac n cheese

P.P.S Things I'm loving lately

This mac n cheese is the base for the above 'recipe'. If you've ever tried chickpea pasta, it tastes and has a texture very similar to that but since it's made from lupini beans it's even higher in protein (20g per serving before adding anything!) and fiber and lower in carbs (6g net carbs).

While we're on the lupini bean bandwagon, I also love their pasta and rice for the same reasons! Awesome staples to have on hand to help me ensure I never don't have a high protein / high fiber meal to throw together in a pinch. It's pricey! But I don't compare it to regular pasta or rice, I compare it to an equivalent source of both protein + fiber and in that case, it's not too bad per serving.

This quote by Seneca: "Let it offend you that someone else could be handed your days and turn them into something greater." Not in an overwhelming, "Let's join the rat race." kind of way. In a curious, "Oooooh, what AM I capable of?" kind of way.
